Medical Sharps

Medical sharps under Wisconsin law, sharps must be treated before disposal.

To reduce public health risks such as accidental needle sticks, Wisconsin law requires all citizens to mange needles, lancets and syringes safely. It is ILLEGAL to put sharps in the trash or with recyclables. 

Used and unused sharps must be placed in an acceptable sharps container and taken to a registered collection facility such as Appleton Medical Center, St. Elizabeth Hospital, Consumer Prescription Center, Copps #8118 or Copps #8123, Shopko Express Pharmacy or Fox Valley Family Medicine.
