State Attorney General Names Officer Frerking “Top Cop”
On September 9, 2016, Jacob Frerking’s wish of becoming a police officer was realized when he was sworn in by Appleton Police Chief Todd Thomas. Today, State Attorney General Brad Schimel announced Officer Frerking as a Wisconsin “Top Cop”.
The Attorney General frequently highlights the quality work and positive acts done by officers from around the state in the “Top Cop” segment of the Wisconsin Department of Justice webpage. He thanked Officer Frerking for “keeping the City of Appleton” safe, while highlighting Jacob’s Make-A-Wish day with the Appleton Police Department.
The Appleton Police Department is honored to call Officer Frerking one of their own. Following his special day, made possible through the assistance of Make-A-Wish Wisconsin, multiple law enforcement agencies and local businesses, officers and department personnel have stayed in close contact with Jacob and his family. Today, Jacob came to the department to ride along for the morning.
