Arrest in Robbery of Wisconsin Avenue Business
On April 1, 2016, the Appleton Police Department was called to an armed robbery occurring at Gunderson Cleaners, 200 W. Wisconsin Avenue. Due to the observations of an alert citizen the robbery suspect has been located and arrested.
Investigators received information on a suspect vehicle from a citizen who had been in the area of the robbery. While looking for the vehicle, investigators learned it had been stopped in Calumet County on April 2, 2016. The individual driving the vehicle, later arrested by the Appleton Police Department, had been taken into custody on drug possession charges, during the traffic stop. Upon his release from the Calumet County Jail, the subject was taken into custody by the Appleton Police Department. He was questioned by investigators and has admitted his involvement in the incident.
Ben J. Stoveken (M/W, 04/16/80), a resident of Neenah, is currently confined at the Outagamie County Jail. A charge of Armed Robbery is being requested for Stoveken.
