Water Utility wins Achievement Award
We've got some really exciting news to share!
Our water utility earned the Wisconsin chapter of the American Water Works Association Achievement Award at its annual meeting last week.
The award notes: Appleton worked with the public, City officials and water experts to improve water quality, increase capacity and reduce costs. After optimizing water treatment plant improvements, Appleton more than doubled their disinfection credits, doubled their cold water treatment capacity and saved $1 million dollars per year in operating and maintenance costs.
A big part of the credit goes to the hard-working team pictured for their continual efforts at innovation, increasing efficiencies and ensuring we deliver high-quality water to all our residents.
And as a side note, that high-quality water was also judged to be the 2nd best-tasting water in Wisconsin, out of 600+ water utilities that were judged.
