City wins award as one of the healthiest organizations in the country
Wellness. It’s something we all think about for ourselves and something most everyone strives to achieve in some form or fashion. We even think about it for our friends and family. But do you know if your employer thinks about your wellness?
One of the many benefits of working with us is our focus on employee wellness. It’s a commitment the City has made to ensuring that our employees are happy, healthy and productive. We’ve made it such a priority that we’ve just been awarded with a Gold Well Workplace Award by the Wellness Council of America. The award recognizes an organization for its commitment to the health and well-being of its employees.
Here at the City, we do that in several ways. We have our own healthcare clinic in partnership with the Appleton Area School District. We also have an employee wellness team that creates learning opportunities and organizes healthy initiatives throughout the year.
“We put a premium on wellness for our employees because we know that with a healthy work-life balance our employees are able to better focus at work,” said Mayor Tim Hanna. “Our focus on health also saves us on healthcare expenses and insurance which allows us to put more money toward services which is a win for everyone.”
