Charges Requested for North Side Shooting
The Appleton Police Department has requested a number of charges on the individual involved in the April 25, 2017, shooting on N. Union Street.
A 28 year-old Appleton man, Ger Thao, was taken into custody at an Appleton cemetery; approximately 90 minutes after the shooting. The vehicle he drove and a gun, believed to be used in the shooting, were recovered when the subject was taken into custody.
Investigators are still working on the investigation. They would like to speak to a 26 year-old Green Bay man, KhungtaoKue, who was allegedly inside the apartment on N. Union Street during the incident. He is not a suspect; however, he may have been injured during the incident.
Based on information collected during the investigation, the Appleton Police Department is requesting Thao be charged with one count of Attempted 1st Degree Homicide and five (5) counts of 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety. Multiple rounds were fired into the apartment building and outside of the building during Tuesday’s incident.
