Welcome from the Chief

Message from our Fire Chief Len Vander Wyst

l__fire_chief_photoI am truly honored to be serving the City of Appleton as the Fire Chief for the Appleton Fire Department (AFD). The AFD is committed to preserving lives and property within the City of Appleton in partnership with the community we serve. By working together to enhance the safety and quality of life in our community, we are able to meet the changing needs of those we serve. This Web site provides details of the many services we provide as well as information regarding the organizational structure of the AFD.

The men and women of the AFD serve with pride through strong public education programming stressing prevention to create a fire safe community. When education and prevention are not enough, the AFD provides the highest quality professional service responding to your needs for fire suppression, specialized rescue operations, first responder emergency medical care, hazardous material incidents, and any incident requiring intervention to solve your emergency and non-emergency situations. I would like to thank the members of the AFD for their commitment to professionalism in all that they do.

Thank you for showing interest in the AFD by viewing our Web site. If you have any suggestions for improvement, please contact us via e-mail or by phone at (920) 832-5810.
