Valley Transit Offers Special Fares for Octoberfest Events

APPLETON, WI (September 24, 2011) -- Valley Transit is pleased to announce special bus fares for License To Cruise and Octoberfest on September 28 and 29. “Octoberfest weekend is our busiest weekend of the year. Last year, we provided more than 12,000 rides for License To Cruise and Octoberfest,” said Valley Transit General Manager, Deborah Wetter. “For many years, Valley Transit has provided safe and reliable transportation for people headed to Octoberfest events and we are looking forward to another great year. There’s no need to worry about traffic and parking - just ride Valley Transit.”

On Friday, September 28, all routes are 25¢ after 3:45 p.m. for License to Cruise.

On Saturday, September 29, the 25¢ fare continues on all routes and from designated Park & Ride locations.

License To Cruise Transportation – Friday, September 28
Valley Transit is offering 25¢ RIDES after 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Riders can take advantage of this special fare by catching the bus on any Valley Transit route.

On Friday evening, Valley Transit buses will be on their regular evening schedule. Last routes depart the Downtown Appleton Transit Center at 9:15 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Please check route schedule at www.myvalleytransit.com or call 920-832-5800.

Octoberfest Transportation – Saturday, September 29

On Saturday, Valley Transit will continue to offer the special 25¢ FARE all day, on all routes and from designated Park & Ride lots along Valley Transit bus routes. The following Park & Ride lots are available on Saturday:

• Goodwill Industries on Appleton Rd. (Hwy 47) in Menasha
• Fox Valley Technical College on Bluemound Dr. in Grand Chute
• Appleton East High School - Schaefer Street lot
• Valley Packaging on Roemer Rd. in northeast Appleton

Park & Ride signs will be posted at each lot to indicate where passengers can catch the bus. Valley Transit buses will serve the Park & Ride lots every 20-25 minutes on Saturday. Routes 1 – 9 will run every 30 minutes from 9:45 a.m. to 6:15 p.m., with hourly service continuing after 6:15 p.m. Routes 11 – 41 will run every 60 minutes all day. Last routes depart the Downtown Appleton Transit Center at 9:15 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. Please check route schedule at www.myvalleytransit.com or call 920-832-5800.
