This is a benefited exempt professional position in the Community Partnerships Section of the library. Work involves providing reference and readers advisory service to patrons at the adult public service desks, coordinating the provision of library services to young adults; including working with a teen advisory board, promoting young adult services, implementing young adult programming, planning and implementing the summer library program for young adults, implementing the library instruction program for school groups and adults, as well as working as a member of the Community Partnerships section team.

This is an entry-level sworn police position responsible for protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances. Work involves patrolling assigned areas, responding to criminal, suspicious, traffic and unusual situations as directed; investigating activities, gathering evidence, securing areas; protecting victims, the public and property; apprehending violators, completing appropriate paperwork and other related duties as required. Police Officers are also required to perform first responder duties and provide basic emergency medical service. Duties are performed under general supervision of the on duty lieutenant.

Valley Transit will continue its policy of “Weapons of any kind, including firearms or knives, are prohibited, unless carried on board by a law enforcement officer" on Valley Transit buses, in bus shelters and in transfer centers as listed under "Rules of the Road" on the Rider's Guide and at this link.

This policy was reaffirmed by the Fox Cities Transit Commission on October 26, 2011.

Reminder: Rummage sale signs cannot be placed in the terrace. Signs are prohibited on the terrace or anywhere else in the public right-of-way. Signs, handbills, posters or notices may not be placed on traffic control boxes, traffic signs, utility poles, or traffic control support structures. See Municipal Code §§23-505 and 23-507.
