VALLEY TRANSIT: News Releases

Unlimited Summer Youth Rides For Less Than a Tank of Gas!

May 1, 2008

Valley Transit is once again offering their Freedom Pass this summer.  With the Valley Transit Freedom Pass, kids ages 5 to 18 can take unlimited bus rides on all regular Valley Transit bus routes from June 1 to Aug. 31 for only $35.

“Valley Transit has 16 regular fixed routes that serve most area parks, pools, libraries and shopping centers, which means kids can easily get where they need to go to have fun this summer”, said Valley Transit General Manager Deborah Wetter.  “At a cost of only $35, the Freedom Pass gives kids three months of unlimited bus rides for less than the cost of a tank of gas.”

“Riding the bus is not only the more economical way to travel throughout the Fox Cities, it’s also the greener way.  Traveling by public transportation uses less energy and produces less pollution than travel in a private vehicle,” Wetter said.

To save even more money, Valley Transit is offering a $5 discount for riders who purchase their Freedom Pass by May 31.

Freedom Passes are available at all Valley Transit outlets, at Valley Transit’s administrative office and by mail at Valley Transit, 801 S. Whitman Ave., Appleton, WI 54914.

For more information, customers are encouraged to contact Valley Transit offices at 920-832-5800 or visit www.appleton.org/vt.
