VALLEY TRANSIT: News Releases

Valley Transit Now Offering 30-Day Pass

February 28, 2008

Appleton (February 28,2008) -- Valley Transit has added a 30-Day Pass to its range of fare options. The 30-Day Pass costs $52 and is good for unlimited rides on Valley Transit bus routes for 30 calendar days from the first time it is used. A Senior/Disabled 30-Day Pass is also available for $30. This pass is for seniors 65 and older and people with disabilities, and is to be used in conjunction with an ADA Certification, Medicare or Valley Transit Reduced Fare card.

"We have had many requests for the 30-Day Pass and are pleased to be able to offer this new fare option to our riders," said Valley Transit General Manager Deborah Wetter. "In 2007, Valley Transit had a 2.2% increase in bus ridership and we anticipate the 30-Day Pass will help us continue that upward trend. This Pass also provides an easier mechanism for employers to offer transit benefits to their employees, saving both money in payroll taxes."

The 30-Day Pass can be purchased at Valley Transit ticket outlets, the ticket machine located inside the Downtown Appleton Transit Center, Valley Transit's administrative office or by mail at Valley Transit, 801 S. Whitman Ave., Appleton, WI 54914.

For more information, customers are encouraged to contact Valley Transit offices at 920-832-5800 or visit www.appleton.org/vt.
