Appleton
Public Library and Valley Transit Announce Annual Summer Library
Pass-Time
June
6, 2006
The library is the place to be this
summer and Valley Transit is the way to get there. For the 17th consecutive year the Appleton Public
Library and Valley Transit will offer Summer
Library Pass-Time. Every
Wednesday from June 14th through August 2nd
riders under 18 going to/from the Appleton Public Library can ride
Valley Transit for free just by showing their library card.
There are programs for kids and teens
alike at the Appleton library this summer. Children can enjoy the
Summer Reading Program “Paws,
Claws, Scales and Tales” and have the opportunity to earn and win
prizes. Teens (students in grades 7-12) can also win great prizes
from the library in the Teen Summer Library Program called
“Cover Story”.
“It’s been a great
venture over the years for Valley Transit and the Appleton Public
Library,” said Chuck Kamp, General Manager of Valley Transit
“what better way for two public organizations to join forces and
serve the community than the Library Pass-Time.”
Valley Transit serves the communities of the Fox Cities,
providing safe, reliable, and convenient public transportation.
Valley Transit II, under the Americans with Disabilities Act,
provides specialized transportation for individuals unable to use
the fixed route service.
