Valley
Transit Places 1st & 2nd In Annual State Roadeo
May
26, 2006
Valley Transit bus operators Travis
Krause and Steve Lowe respectively won first and second place in the
21st Annual State Bus Roadeo.
The Roadeo, which is sponsored by the Transit Mutual
Insurance Corporation of Wisconsin, included sixty-nine contestants
representing nineteen transit systems throughout Wisconsin.
Mr. Krause and Mr. Lowe competed in the tougher Division Two,
which includes past transit Roadeo winners.
The Roadeo is patterned after the
National Bus Roadeo sponsored by the American Public Transit
Association. Participants
are evaluated on their appearance, various safety and operational
criteria, and performance in the obstacle course involving turns,
backing, stopping and diminishing clearances. Mr. Krause had the
highest score among all competitors in both divisions.
He has participated in past Roadeos but this is the first
time taking the top prize. He
was very excited to win the event and showed some recognition to his
fellow Valley Transit competitor Steve Lowe, who has won the top
prize eight times in the past twenty years, I even beat Steve!
said Mr. Krause.
It is a significant
accomplishment to compete in the annual Roadeo, because it requires
an excellent safety and overall performance record for the previous
year, said Chuck Kamp, Valley Transit General Manager. Valley Transit extends
congratulations to the outstanding
accomplishments of these employees.
Valley
Transit serves the many communities of the Fox Cities, providing
safe, reliable, and convenient public transportation. Specialized

Disabilities Act by Valley Transit II, for people who are unable to
