VALLEY TRANSIT: News Releases

Valley Transit to hold Public Hearing on use of strollers & wheeled grocery carts aboard buses.

February 14, 2005

Valley Transit is proposing a policy that would restrict the use of wheeled carry-ons such as strollers and grocery carts on Valley Transit buses and would like to welcome public comment at a public hearing to be held Monday, February 21, 2005 at 6:00 PM in Committee Rooms A&B, 6th floor Appleton City Hall, 100 N. Appleton St., Appleton, WI 54911.

The proposed policy would limit the size of strollers and grocery carts that would be allowed aboard all Valley Transit buses, and more strictly enforce existing policies of removing children from strollers and stowing wheeled objects and carry-ons out of the aisle.

Individuals with comments are welcome to attend the public hearing or can submit comments in writing to Valley Transit Carry-on policy, 801 Whitman Ave., Appleton, WI 54914. Comments can also be made by phone at 920-832-1629 or e-mail at valley.transit@appleton.org.

The deadline to submit written or phone comments is 4:00 PM, Mon., February 21, 2005.
