VALLEY TRANSIT: Policies

Carry-On Approval Process

All grocery/utility carts must be approved and tagged prior to travel aboard Valley Transit buses. Items that exceed 9"W x 14"D will not be allowed aboard Valley Transit buses. Click here to view the complete Carry-on Policy 

1. Schedule an appointment. 

Walk-in appointments are available weekdays, between 8 am and 5pm at Valley Transit’s Admin. office, 801 S. Whitman Ave, Appleton (located on Route 2 - Prospect). 

 

For appointments at the Transit Center, 100 E. Washington, call 832-5800 weekdays between 8 am to 5 pm, Only weekday appointments will be accepted.

2. Bring the item to the appointment. 

A Valley Transit staff member will measure the item. If it fits within the limits, it will be tagged for travel. A green tag will be placed on items that can travel full and unfolded. A blue striped tag will be placed on items that must be folded and empty before boarding Valley Transit buses.

3. Display the tag when you travel.

This tag must remain on the item as long as you wish to use it aboard Valley Transit buses. Tags must be shown to drivers upon boarding. 

Items that exceed the prescribed dimensions will not be allowed aboard Valley Transit buses.
