Garbage Collection
Place your container out for collection the night before your scheduled collection day between 5:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. The handle of the container should face your house. Because garbage trucks need clearance in order to empty your can, do not place your container within 5 feet of any object on the terrace or park vehicles in front of the container. Because of safety concerns, never place a container in the roadway. Containers should be returned to their point of storage no later than midnight the day of the collection. Any bags that cause the lid not to close on City-provided refuse containers are considered to be overflow refuse. If your automated container is too small, too large, or needs repair, contact the Municipal Service Building.
