BELLY DANCE: Time is spent learning common Middle
Eastern rhythms, head slides, shoulder shimmies, snake arms and more. Students
learn combinations based on their skill level so they can put together their own
dances.
AGES: 15 through adult

CANOE INSTRUCTION: Learn the
basic paddling strokes, canoe safety and where to canoe in
the area. Enjoy boating on the five acre pond at Appleton
Memorial Park.
AGES: All ages, children under 10 must have a parent in
attendance.

CARDIOKICKBOXING: Kickboxing
training movements will be set to a cardiovascular workout
in this class. Basic kickboxing skills will be incorporated
including upper body jabs and punches and lower body kicks
and shuffles.

DANCE - TAP, HIP HOP AND JAZZ:
The summer dance programs are workshop style classes. They
are offered for beginner students to learn new skills and
intermediate/ advanced students to have some fun trying out

DISC GOLF INSTRUCTION: Learn a
brief history of the sport, the basic throwing styles and
the rules necessary to play this exciting game.

OPEN GYM: Includes
basketball and volleyball. Open Gym
is held at Appleton North High School on Wednesdays from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. Fee is
$2.00 for residents (proof of residency is required) or $7.00 for non
residents (pay at the gym).

PROGRAM OFFERED: Wednesdays, November 7 through February 27
REGISTRATION: No pre-registration is required
PILATES PLUS: A blend of dance,
pilates, yoga and figure skating techniques that will tone
and shape your body. This class concentrates on core
body exercises, expanding into stretches, thereby increasing
the student's strength, flexibility, agility and posture.

RECREATIONAL ROWING: Learn the skill and balance of rowing
in a racing shell. Join this fast growing sport and row on
the beautiful Fox River at Telulah Park.

SPORTS
OFFICIAL TRAINING: Officiating classes for
individuals interested in obtaining employment with the
Parks and Recreation Department as an official for baseball,
softball, soccer, flag football and basketball. The emphasis
of the training will include mechanics, rules and how to
communicate with players, coaches and spectators.
AGES: High school student to adult
PROGRAM OFFERED: August (Soccer), October (Basketball)

TAI CHI: Learn this shortened
version of the traditional Yang style Tai Chi. Students are
constantly moving to combine mind, body, breath and
meditation. Tai Chi is a non-contact, non-combative way of
improving health and energy and reducing stress.
AGES: 15 through adult
PROGRAM OFFERED: June through August

TENNIS INSTRUCTION: It's never too late to enjoy this
lifetime leisure sport. Beginning participants will learn
the fundamentals of the game, intermediate participants
should have one year of lessons and be able to hit the
ground strokes, volley and serve. Advanced participants
should have two or more years of lessons and be able to
perform all strokes.
AGES: 15 and up

YOGA (beginner and intermediate): Relax and rejuvenate with
invigorating yet centering poses that will bring harmony to
the mind, body and spirit. Feel refreshed with improved body
alignment, balance, flexibility, strength and range of
motion. Breathing, meditation and guided imagery will be
explored as well. Adults with or without experience and all
fitness levels are encouraged to attend.
