APRD SUMMER ACTIVITY GUIDE
Click

Summer Activity Guide. It is also available for pick-up at the Appleton
Parks and Recreation Department, City Center Information
Desk and second floor studios, Building for Kids, the
Appleton Public Library and East, North and West Pools. Resident
by mail, in person or online. To
register online you must be registered as a household using the
Family Information form: Household Information Form.
POOLS OPEN
Mead and Erb Pools are open
for the summer. Click
here for pool hours, admission and other information. New
in 2009: Swim free at Erb and Mead Pools daily from 7:00
p.m. to 8:00 p.m.!
PLAYGROUND SITES
The APRD playground
sites are open through August 13, Monday through
Thursday, 9:00 to noon and 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Youth ages 7-15
are welcome to participate in sports, games, crafts and much
more. Summer
playground sites include: Alicia, City, Colony Oaks, Derks,
Erb, Green Meadows, Highview, Hoover, Jaycee,
Kiwanis, Linwood and Schaefer parks and Columbus, Ferber and
Huntley schools.
There is no charge for this drop-in program. Two
enthusiastic playground leaders are available at each site
to lead the daily fun!!
Special
events and field trips are also scheduled throughout the
summer. There is a fee for these programs. Click

SUMMER
FIELD TRIPS
The Appleton Parks and Recreation Department announces the
following summer field trips. Price
includes admission and transportation. Click on the
individual field trip for more information, including the

Young Child
Activities (ages 3 – 7): Camp APRD, Friday Fun, Little Hitters
Tennis, Swim Lessons
Youth
Activities (ages 7 – 13): Camp APRD, Friday Fun, Little
Hitters Tennis Instruction, Swim
Lessons, Synergie, Yoga.
Teen and Adult Activities (14+): Kickboxing, Swim Lessons,
Synergie, Yoga. First Aid, CPR for
the Professional Rescuer.
CANCELLATION PROCEDURES
FOR THE MOST UP TO DATE INFORMATION, CALL THE INFORMATION
LINE AT 920-832-3900
The following guidelines are followed for cancellation of
recreation programs due to weather:
1) If the Appleton Area School District has canceled
classes for the day, all Parks and Recreation programs are
canceled for the day, i.e. Junior Clubhouse, Dance, swim
lessons, Thompson Community Center.
2) If the Appleton Area School District has a two hour
delay in the morning, only the morning classes are canceled.
Afternoon and evening classes will take place as scheduled.
3) Winter parks shelters may still be open even if the
School District has canceled.
4) The Appleton Parks and Recreation Department may
cancel classes after school, depending on the weather
conditions.
