Driveway Paving Requirements

The City of Appleton requires that all driveways for one, two and three family dwellings be paved when these properties are sold. (See Front yard Parking Ordinance)  Driveways for one and two family dwellings are inspected during the Clearwater inspection.   There are many different paving scenarios when it comes to driveways.  In most cases, the inspector will be able to inform you on site as to whether the driveway is acceptable, or if paving is needed to comply with the ordinance.  However, in some cases, unique circumstances may arise and the inspector will have to consult with other City staff members to determine the status of the driveway.   If paving is required, a notice will be sent to the current property owner and the Title company, if one has been designated, stating that paving is required to be completed within six months of the date of closing.
