Volunteers
In Police Service is a national volunteer program adopted and
embraced by the Appleton Police Department.
It
is a fabulous gift to our community. Not only does it provide a
great tax savings for our community through service hours, but it
also frees up officers to do what they have been trained for-keeping
our community safe!
Our
VIPS volunteers have been called upon to help with everything from
SpeedWatch enforcement, McGruff, role-playing, speaking engagements,
mailings, station tours, Internet research, clerical, Hmong/Spanish
translating, databases, Neighborhood Watch, the Cop Shop,
photography, brochure development, and much more.
A criminal background check is
completed prior to acceptance into the VIPS program.
To learn more about the VIPS
program, please call 832-5865 or email anne.strauch@appleton.org.
