The following
qualifications and standards are established to insure hiring the
best candidates for employment. MINIMUM qualifications and
requirements are that a candidate:
- Must be a citizen of the United States
- Must be at least 18 years
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Must have no felony or domestic violence
convictions
- Must have 60 credits of post-high school
education at an approved college, university or technical school
- Must pass physical, psychological and vision
examinations and a drug screen test
In addition to the minimum requirements listed, IDEAL
candidate qualifications include:
- Maturity
- Good communication skills
- An ability to deal effectively with the public
- Good character
- Related secondary education and/or prior law
enforcement experience preferred
- Free from any physical, emotional, or mental
conditions that might prevent them from performing the essential
job functions
