Identification / Evidence

Officers assigned to the Identification / Evidence Unit process major crime scenes, examine evidence in the Department's lab, and prepare, package, and make arrangements for the transportation of evidence to area crime labs.  ID Officers also provide training to the Department's patrol officers who have opted to become ID Techs.
The Identification / Evidence Unit has focused on working closer with officers and investigators to facilitate the rapid return of property when a criminal complaint has been adjudicated.  An upgraded Access Program has greatly enhanced the unit's ability to process, log, and retrieve property/evidence.
