POLICE: FAQ - Accidents

Accident Reports
Accident reports are open records and therefore anyone may request and receive a report.
Accident reports are retained at the police department for seven years.

To request a report:
You may request a copy of an accident report, for an accident that occurred in the City of Appleton, by phone (920-832-5563), during normal business hours (8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.).

To assist with locating the accident report in question, you will be asked to provide one or more of the following:

  1. Incident number
  2. Officer's name or badge #
  3. Name of a driver
  4. Date of accident
  5. Location of accident

Cost: 25 cents per page (if picked up).  There is an additional $1.00 fee for postage & handling.
