5 HOUR ARMED STAND-OFF ENDS WITHOUT INCIDENT

Officers from the Appleton Police Department were dispatched to an apartment at 1834 W. Pershing Street, on May 3, 2008, at approximately 3 AM, after officers were notified of a domestic disturbance, involving a weapon, occurring at that location.  Upon arrival, officers discovered that all of the occupants, other than the armed person, had exited the apartment.  The occupants, who had left, confirmed that the lone subject was armed with a loaded handgun.

Officers tried to make contact with the apartment occupant, without success.  The Appleton Police S.W.A.T. Team, and the Appleton Police Negotiations Team, were called out to assist with this call.

Negotiators were able to make contact with the subject, who eventually surrendered to police at approximately 8 AM, without incident.

Arrested was Isaac D. Thomas, a 28 year-old Appleton man, for 2nd Degree Reckless Endangerment, Domestic Disorderly Conduct, and Bail Jumping.  Thomas was confined at the Outagamie County Jail.
