Rules of the Road
Valley Transit requires passengers to follow certain rules while on board. Your driver is in charge, and may ask any rider who behaves in an unruly manner or does not observe these rules to leave the bus.
Use common courtesy on the bus and while waiting at the stops. Also, always remember to offer your seat to anyone who, because of age or physical condition, is less able to stand than you are.
No weapons
Weapons of any kind, including firearms or knives, are prohibited, unless carried on board by a law enforcement officer. This policy includes bus shelters and inside transfer centers.
Strollers & Small Children
If you're traveling with children, make sure they stay seated for the whole trip.
Children must be removed from strollers prior to boarding and the stroller must be folded and stowed out of the aisle.
Food & Drink
Passengers are discouraged from eating or drinking on the bus. Open food and beverages are not allowed.
No leafleting or handing out of flyers
No person shall hand out or distribute notices, flyers, brochures or other materials aboard a Valley Transit bus or at the Transit Center without prior permission of the management.
No loud or offensive language
Please be courteous to other passengers and keep conversations and language to low levels. Offensive language and swearing will not be tolerated and will be cause for removal from the bus.
No Laser Pointers
Passengers are prohibited from shining a laser pointer at or near a bus driver or at or out of a bus window.
No Loitering at Transit Center
The Transit Center is designed for bus patrons who are waiting for a bus, purchasing bus passes, or receiving bus schedules or route information. Use of the building by other than Valley Transit or Greyhound patrons is prohibited. Persons not conducting official bus related business will be asked to leave.
Radios, Tape/CD, and MP3 players
Earphones must be used if these items are played on the bus. Please keep volume to levels that do not disturb other passengers.
No Smoking
Smoking is not allowed on the buses, in Valley Transit shelters or at the Appleton Transit Center (including outside areas). Smoking is also not allowed at the Neenah Transit Center.
No Littering
Valley Transit passengers are expected to respect Valley Transit property and the owners of property near Valley Transit bus stops and shelters. A trash receptacle is located at the front of every bus for your convenience. Please place trash in this receptacle as you board the bus and as you exit.
No Vandalism
All Valley Transit buses are monitored by 4 digital security cameras, and the Transit Center is monitored by security cameras inside and outside the building. Vandalism will not be tolerated and those caught will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
Packages, Personal belongings, luggage, Wheeled devices, Hazardous materials, Weapons, & Animals
Large batteries, gasoline cans, propane tanks, and oxygen tanks other than small tanks meant for personal use, are not allowed on board. This includes new or empty vessels.
