The Accident Investigation Team is made up of officers who possess special knowledge and training in the field of traffic accident investigations. The Team is activated to:- investigate accidents that either have resulted in a fatality or have a high probability of resulting in a fatality
- investigate any vehicle accident where the nature of the accident requires their technical knowledge and training
- investigators are assigned as members of the team to assit with the peformance of any criminal investigations as a result of the crash
