Safe Routes to School (SRTS)

SRTS programs promote walking and bicycling to school as a means to increase physical activity levels, reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality, and enhance neighborhood safety. The City of Appleton received funding from the WI Department of Transportation to implement a local SRTS Program, including encouragement activities at three pilot schools, infrastructure improvements, and citywide outreach/education.

This site will serve as a local SRTS resource for Appleton Area schools interested in purusing SRTS programming. Please check the site regularly for updated materials/information.

For more information on the SRTS Program in Appleton, please review the information below or contact the Grants Administrator.
