APPLETON - TREE CITY USA

Did you know that for the past twentyseven years, the City of Appleton has been named a Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation? Appleton is also the recipient of a Tree City USA Growth Award for demonstrating progress in its community forestry program, recognizing environmental improvement and higher levels of tree care. As a Tree City USA, Appleton must meet the criteria of four standards:

A tree department (Public Works Department)

A tree care ordinance

A comprehensive community forestry program

An Arbor Day observance

As a City of Appleton property owner, you can participate in the community forestry program by requesting to have a tree planted on the terrace or boulevard in front of your home or business. You can also request to "donate" a tree or trees to be planted in the park of your choice as a memorial or in honor of a special person. Call (920) 832-5580 for more information.

The City of Appleton celebrates Arbor Day on the last Friday of April each year. In honor of Arbor Day plant a tree in your yard or contribute to a local beautification project.
