Fire station tours and school visits

Tours
For tours, you will be asked specifics about:
  • Which fire station you prefer to visit.
  • If you don't have a preference, we will schedule a tour at the station closest to your location.
  • The group wanting the tour (grade, age and number of participants (both adults and children).
  • We recommend a chaperone for every 5-8 children for younger ages to make fire station tour most successful.
  • Preferred date/time. NOTE: Tours are typically scheduled Monday-Friday between 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Tours are scheduled around other commitments (training, etc.). Offering more dates you are available makes scheduling easier.
  • Please provide us ample time to find a time that works for you. Typically we can get you scheduled in a week or two.
School Visits
Fire crews will also visit schools and do a fire safety presentation.

You will be asked about the school you would like us to visit, the age/grade of the children and number of participants.

We would also like to discuss with you the fire safety messages you feel would be most helpful for your class, including what curriculum you've covered and what discussions you've already had with the children. We can then reinforce messages they've already heard.

If you would like more information on this program, contact the Public Education Bureau.
