Honor Guard

Though the Appleton Police Department has always been able to respond with a Color Guard when requested for an event, there was never a permanent group that comprised the Honor Guard until March 2002.
The Honor Guard is responsible for carrying the flags in parades and representing the Department at funerals and other special events. A part of the Honor Guard is the Drill Team, consisting of four members who do drill routines with rifles.

Members of the Honor Guard have participated in the Flag Day Parade, the Memorial Day Parade, the Christmas Parade, the raising of the large flag at the USA Sports Complex, the New Year's Eve party at City Park, several opening ceremonies for various organizations, and many more special events.

Current members of the APD Honor Guard are:
  • Officer Kathryn Bohren
  • Lt. Steve Elliott
  • Sgt. Gerald Flunker
  • Sgt. Andy Miles
  • Lt. Jeff Miller
  • Officer Katie Vanderheiden
  • Officer Mike Wallace
  • Sgt. John Wallschlaeger
  • Officer Joe Whitney
  • Officer Mike Medina
  • Officer Miriam Roskam
