Both sites accept grass clippings, brush, yard waste, and motor oil. Site attendants are available for questions.
The Municipal Service Building yard waste site is a full customer service center and is available to all City of Appleton residents (non commercial use only). In addition to the above, antifreeze, metal, appliances, tires, car batteries, and refuse can be brought to the Glendale Avenue site during operating hours. See the site attendant before dropping off any of the above-mentioned items. Please tarp or secure loads taken to the yard waste sties. Branches and debris that fall onto the road are a safety hazard.
The yard waste sites DO NOT accept electronics, shingles, concrete, dirt, sod, propane tanks or hazardous waste.
Please be prepared to show proof of residency to the attendant. Residential waste only - No debris accepted from contractors.
Both sites are closed on City-observed holidays.
2. I want to properly dispose of my worn American Flag.
The City of Appleton, in cooperation with the American Legion, have placed a container at the Glendale yard site for residents to drop off worn or damaged American flags.
3. How do I dispose of my waste oil and oil filters?

4. I want to know my garbage/recycling schedule, overflow collection procedures.
You can find this information by using the "My Neighborhood" portal that will provide an array of information about any City address. There is also quick link to that portal on the City's home page. 6. I want to recycle my television.
Effective September 1, 2010 the following electronics must be recycled and will not be collected with regular garbage per Wisconsin State Law:
Computers / Monitors / Televisions / Video Display Devices / Fax Machines / DVD or VCR Players / Printers / Cell Phones
Many electronic items contain harmful materials including lead, mercury, cadmium, chromium, other heavy metals, and chemical flame retardants that can leach into the environment where they can affect human and environmental health. Many of these electronic items also contain valuable reusable materials.
