The
Nursing section of the Appleton Health Department provides services
including Immunization Clinics, Communicable Disease Investigation,
Lead Poisoning Prevention, a Parent and Child Health program, and an
Adult Health Program.
Adult
Health Program
The
Adult Health Program focuses on the promotion of positive outcomes
for adults and the elderly. Services are provided in the home,
group homes, clinics, and other settings throughout the
community. The services include assessing and monitoring
health status, providing emotional support, health instruction on
positive health practices, nutrition, coping with different life
situations, and disease processes and medications.

Disease Investigation, Education and Data Collection
Disease
investigations include sexually transmitted diseases, food-borne and
waterborne illnesses, tuberculosis, and vaccine preventable
diseases.

Parent
and Child Health Program
The
Parent and Child Health program focuses on promoting healthy
families. Services are provided in the home, clinics, and
other settings. The services include assessing developmental,
physical and emotional health, and instruction related to prenatal,
postpartum, and infant care, child growth and development, proper
nutrition, and parenting.
