Car Seat Inspections

Dates
Car seat inspections are offered on the first and third Thursday of the month from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. by appointment only. 

Location
Car seat inspections are offered at the Fire Station #6, 4930 N. Lightning Drive, Appleton. 

Appointments
Car seat inspections are offered by appointment only. Call Affinity NurseDirect at (920) 738-2230 or 1-800-363-9900 to schedule an appointment. The schedule fills fast, so call early. (Expectant parents – please call at least two months before your due date).

If you can't keep your appointment, please contact NurseDirect so someone else can use the appointment time. 

Before the Inspection
Review your car seat manual and vehicle manual. Try to install the child seat before your appointment so you have an opportunity to work with the seat. We encourage you to have questions ready for the technician.

The Day of the Inspection
Bring the following to your inspection: 

• Your child (unless you are expecting).
• Car seat.
• The vehicle the seat is used in most often.
• Car seat manual.
• Vehicle manual. 

At the Inspection
Parents are educated about how to properly use and install a child safety seat by certified child passenger safety technicians from SAFE KIDS Fox Valley, the Outagamie County Public Health Department, Appleton Fire Department and other agencies.

This service is for Outagamie County residents only.
