Fire Districts
The City of Appleton has six strategically placed engine
companies in service at all times.

Engine companies are responsible for:
- Fire suppression.
- Exposure protection.
- Public education.
- Inspections.
- Vehicle extrication.
The department has one truck company located downtown at Station
One,
and a quint apparatus on the south side of the city that doubles as
both an engine and truck company.
A truck company is responsible for:
- Ventilation.
- Search and rescue.
- Public education.
- Inspections.
- Aerial rescue operations.
The quint has the capability to accomplish most of the tasks the
the truck company can complete, as well as, all of the tasks that
the engine company is responsible for on the fire ground. In
addition, all of the apparatus are responsible for response to
medical emergencies in the capacity of first responders.
