2007 Fire Fighter of the Year Award Recipient

Congratulations to Firefighter Brad Brautigam on receipt of the 2007 Fire Fighter of the year award!

Thank you to Brad for continued efforts to bring back pride and tradition to the Appleton Fire Department. Brad is a 4^th generation Brautigam to work at Appleton Fire Department. Brad has completed endless work to capture the history of the Appleton Fire Department. He put together a historical museum at Station 1 and has hung special memorabilia (from photos of old fire stations to past firefighting equipment) throughout Station 1.   

Over the last year, Brad has also spend countless hours helping to plan and execute an open house in partnership with the Sesquicentennial celebration in Appleton this past June. He has reconnected with community organizations such as the Historical Society and the Public Library to help in the work to preserve the memories of the past and special times of the present. He has also reached out to reclaim a relationship with many of Appleton Fire Department's retirees. He also has participated in a video being produced regarding Appleton's 150th birthday. Brad again and again goes above and beyond in this special work. Brad's dedication to the preservation of past and the embracing of present is to be commended. Congratulations to Brad Brautigam—Firefighter of the year, 2007!
