Each year, the City of Appleton prepares a Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), designed to fairly present the financial position and results of operations of the various funds and account groups of the city and the cash flows of the proprietary funds and nonexpendable trust fund.  The financial statements are prepared according to Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP) and are audited by an independent Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in accordance with Generally Accepted Audit Standards (GAAS).
