The City of Appleton owns over 950,000 square feet of occupied space in over 16 major sites. Facilities & Construction Management [F&CM], a division of the Department of Mayor, supports over 650 public employees serving a population of over 72,000 throughout the City of Appleton.
Major services of the Department include: climate control, space planning, energy management, preventive maintenance, mechanical/electrical repair and emergency service, light construction, housekeeping, liaison with contracted services, grounds and lots maintenance, signage, building security and lock services. These services are monitored through the asset management system to assure control of priorities and efficient labor use. In addition to these services, the Director provides consultation to other department heads, program directors, and manages major construction/renovation projects with architects and contractors.
F&CM Division is responsible for a variety of operations, services and projects, many of which are regulated by a multitude of federal, state and local laws, codes and mandates.
