Appleton Police Department to Start On-Going Sex Offender Registry Verification Program (posted May 8, 2012)
The Appleton Police Department, in conjunction with the State of Wisconsin Department of Corrections/Probation and Parole, will be training 26 patrol officers and police school liaison officers, to conduct checks of all registered sexual offenders and sexual predators living within the City of Appleton, to verify the current address listed for them is correct.
Such accountability checks will continue on a regular basis.
Registered sex offenders and sexual predators are required to comply with annual reporting and registration requirements of the State of Wisconsin, which includes providing a currant address.
