Water Hydrant Flushing (posted April 16, 2012)
The City of Appleton Department of Public Works Semi-Annual Hydrant Flushing Program will take place April 16, 2012 through May 11, 2012. The flushing will be done Monday-Friday from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Flushing will remove most of the natural minerals such as iron that are harmless but will discolor the water. If you see our personnel working in your area, use little, or if possible, no water for an hour. Should you find discoloration in your water system, stop using the water and wait about an hour. Draw off the discolored water through a cold-water tap. Your help and cooperation in this program will benefit all water consumers.
