Arrests Made in Methadone Death
Appleton Police have arrested three individuals linked to a methadone overdose.
On October 16, 2016, the Appleton Police Department investigated the death of a 25 year old male at his residence in the 2900 block of Schaefer Circle. Evidence of drug use was found at the scene. An autopsy was completed. The subsequent toxicology results showed the drug methadone had a significant factor in the death of the victim.
Appleton Police Department investigators continued to examine the case. They found evidence showing the victim had purchased methadone from an acquaintance the night before his death. On Thursday, January 12, 2017, investigators took individuals, responsible for providing the methadone used by the victim, into custody.
The Appleton Police Department has confined Paris R. Verderami (F/W, 07/17/97 - 1st Degree Reckless Homicide) and Jennifer R. Verderami (F/W, 07/26/64 - Party to 1st Degree Reckless Homicide) at the Calumet County Jail. The mother and daughter are Menasha residents. The Appleton Police Department will also be referring a charge of Party to 1st Degree Reckless Homicide on Kevin C. Bryant (M/W, 06/22/92) for his involvement in the incident. He is confined at the Winnebago County Jail on an unrelated issue.
