Health Dept. increasing number of monthly immunization clinics

Post Date:04/01/2015
The Appleton Health Department is now offering more vaccine clinics in an effort to support young families.

The health department recently completed a quality improvement project focusing on childhood immunizations. This project identified ways to more efficiently utilize staff and expand the number of clinic opportunities for immunizations from 2 to 10 days a month. Under the new immunization schedule, clinics will be offered on Tuesdays from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. and Wednesdays, Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. View the schedule here for exact dates.

The health department will continue to include an interpreter-assisted clinic for Appleton’s Hispanic and Hmong communities the second Wednesday of each month from 3:00 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.

Appleton residents can take advantage of these expanded clinic offerings by calling (920) 832-6429 to schedule an appointment.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) currently lists 28 diseases as preventable or potentially-preventable through vaccination. The CDC has resources available for vaccination recommendations, schedules, side effects and safety and many other common questions about vaccinations at: http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/default.htm
