On Wednesday, April 6, 2016, the Appleton Police Department took three robbery reports. As reported on April 8, 2016, the department was able to clear two of those incidents by arrest. The third reported robbery has also been resolved.
The third reported robbery was alleged to have occurred in the alleyway between S. Walnut Street and S. State Street. The reporting person told officers he was assaulted by one white male and four black males. The individual, who did have minor injuries, reported having a large amount of money taken from him during the assault.
Robert L. Supples Jr. (M/B, 08/04/1986), a resident of a local shelter, was confined at the Outagamie County Jail on a charge of Obstructing. He admitted making up the robbery to investigators to cover up a fight with a juvenile in Grand Chute.
