Police Investigating Crash On City’s North Side

On December 5, 2015, at 7:46 AM, the Appleton Police Department and Appleton Fire Department responded to a crash at the intersection of E. Northland Avenue (OO) and N. Conkey Street.  Officers determined a car traveling north on N. Conkey Street had been struck by a van traveling west on E. Northland Avenue (OO).  The intersection is controlled by stop signs on N. Conkey Street.     

The driver of the car, an 85 year-old male from Appleton, was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.  He is being treated for life threatening injuries sustained in the crash. 

The driver of the van, a 37 year-old female from Kimberly, was not injured in the crash.

Members of the Appleton Police Department’s CRASH Investigation Team responded to investigate the incident.  They were assisted in their investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.   Traffic was diverted while the officers completed their investigation.  The roadway reopened at 10:20 AM.

The investigation is continued.
