Updates to Weekend Investigations

Post Date:02/19/2018 12:08 PM

The Appleton Police Department continues their investigations into several major cases.

On Saturday, February 17, 2018, the Appleton Police Department took David Etheridge into custody for Terrorist Threats.  He admitted sending an electronic message to the FBI stating he would, “shoot up the school”.  He did not specify a school.

A search warrant was executed on Etheridge’s residence. In addition to numerous electronic devices, the Appleton Police Department took four (4) rifles from the residence.  The rifles and ammunition were typical of the hunting rifles and amount of ammunition found in many residences in our state.  Investigators now know Etheridge had sent in excess of 600 electronic messages to the FBI site during the past two (2) months.

Etheridge is scheduled for an initial appearance this afternoon.

Investigators are continuing their investigations into the series of disturbances between a downtown bar and a northside bar.  Evidence indicates rounds were fired from guns at two locations (parking lot of Grumpy’s Bar and in the 600 block of N. Bennett Street).

Investigators have interviewed numerous individuals.  In addition to having many uncooperative witnesses, investigators were also provided false information by several people interviewed.

Attached are three (3) photos of an individual investigators would like to identify and speak to.
