Overnight Reports of Gunshots Being Investigated

The Appleton Police Department is investigating a series of overnight disturbances involving the display and use of firearms. 

On Sunday, February 18, 2018, at approximately 1:18 AM, officers responded to the Apple Pub (535 W. College Avenue) on the report of a man with a gun.  Officers found several people, locked inside of the bar.  Those individuals indicated a man had threatened them with a gun.  The man returned to his vehicle and left the area.  No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.

At approximately 2:15 AM, officers were dispatched to Grumpy’s Pub (1501 N. Richmond Street) for a fight and the report of shots being fired outside of the establishment. Officers found a vehicle, which had been struck with multiple gunshots, in the parking lot of the business. Shell casings were also recovered.  Witnesses reported a fight had occurred inside the bar.  Shots were fired in the parking lot a short time after the altercation.

At approximately 3:16 AM, officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 700 block of W. Third Street.  Officers discovered a vehicle at the residence with a bullet hole in the windshield.  Several people from earlier investigations were present at the residence.

During these investigations, a caller reported finding several shell casings in the roadway in the 600 block of N. Bennett Street.  Officers secured the area and collected numerous shell casings.
