Brawl Results in Arrests

Post Date:09/26/2017 11:47 AM

A south side fight involving brass knuckles, baseball bats, crowbars and pepper spray resulted in five (5) arrests and several hospitalizations.

On September 25, 2017, at approximately 5:56 PM, the Appleton Police Department sent multiple officers to the 3300 block of E. Edgemere Drive for the report of a large disturbance. Officers were directed by witnesses to multiple individuals alleged to have been actively engaged in disorderly behavior, which also involved physical battery.

Appleton Police Department officers determined the primary combatants were individuals known to have ongoing conflicts with one another.  It appeared the disturbance was the result of a preplanned fight between these individuals. Weapons were brought to the fight and were recovered in a vehicle at the scene.

During the disturbance, a 17 year-old female and 49 year-old male were injured. They were transported to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The location of this disturbance is an apartment complex, which has been under city abatement orders since May of 2017.  The property owner has been working with the police department to lawfully remove tenants responsible for criminal activity at the property.

The Appleton Police Department took five (5) Appleton residents into custody for their role in the fight.
