Appleton Police Investigating Homicide

appleton-police-badgeThe Appleton Police Department is in the preliminary stages of a homicide investigation. 

On September 21, 2017, at 2:04 AM, Appleton Police Department officers responded to the report of shots being fired inside a duplex located in the 3300 block of E. Canary Street.

 A 48 year-old female was located inside the residence. Her injuries were consistent with being shot.  She was transported from the residence to a local hospital. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.  An autopsy will be completed this morning in Milwaukee.

 A 58 year-old adult male, who lived at the residence, was taken into custody outside of the residence by responding officers.

The Appleton Police Department is confident of this being an isolated incident.  There is no threat to the general public.
