Agencies Team Together for Arrest
The Appleton Police Department and Fox Valley Metro Police Department have concluded burglary and robbery investigations, from their respective jurisdictions, with an arrest earlier today.
On March 5, 2017, the Appleton Police Department investigated a burglary to a bar in the 2700 block of E. Newberry Street. After gaining access to the business, the suspect destroyed several gaming machines. Video of the suspect was posted to social media on March 11, 2017.
On April 9, 2017, the Fox Valley Metro Police Department investigated an armed robbery occurring at a convenience store in the 700 block of W. Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly. The suspect robbed the store while armed with a hammer and a knife. A store employee, who was struck with the hammer, was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries.
Based on evidence found at both locations and tips from the public, investigators from the two agencies were able to develop a suspect. The individual was taken into custody, without incident, in the parking lot of an E. Newberry Street business earlier today.
Gary D. Perry (M/W, 08/07/61), an Appleton resident, has been confined at the Outagamie County Jail. Charges of Armed Robbery (Fox Valley Metro PD incident) and Burglary (Appleton Police Department) are being requested through the Outagamie County District Attorney’s Office. Additional charges may be forthcoming.
