Custodial Arrest from Stabbing Incident
The Appleton Police Department has taken an individual into custody for a stabbing incident occurring on Friday night.
On March 10, 2017, at 9:34 PM, officers from the Appleton Police Department responded to the parking lot of a business at Wisconsin Avenue and N. Oneida Street. A 50 year-old male, who had walked to the business, was found with a stab wound to his abdomen. He was transported by paramedics to a local hospital for surgery. He remains hospitalized.
Information obtained from the victim lead officers to an apartment located in the 1300 block of N. Oneida Street. A 64 year-old resident, who was a roommate of the victim, was taken into custody without incident. He was treated by paramedics for minor injuries.
Investigators determined a disturbance inside the apartment had escalated into a physical altercation. During the fight, the victim was stabbed in the stomach by his roommate. A search warrant was obtained for the residence and evidence related to the incident was located.
The Appleton Police Department confined Anderson L. Dotson (M/B, 08/22/52) at the Outagamie County Jail on a preliminary charge of First Degree Reckless Injury. Additional charges may result as the investigation is ongoing.
